According to the information provided by the Academy of Industrial Market Research (AKPR), the A DEPT Company is currently the leading Russian producer of laminate tubes. In April 2007 Scandinavian private equity fund Mint Capital and A DEPT LLC entered into an agreement on investing approximately 5 million US dollars in the company’s capital stock with a view to its further growth. Thus Mint Capital received a block of shares which is larger than the blocking interest but smaller than the controlling interest as well as the right to put two representatives on the company’s board of directors. The A DEPT Company will use the raised funds to expand its production facilities by purchasing new production equipment, so as to increase the output of laminate tubes, as well as build a new factory in Solnechnogorsk (Moscow Region).

 

Starting with 2000, the company studied the production and technologies market, conducted marketing research, and studied the prospects for various fields. As a result laminated tubes production was chosen. At the time this market was practically undeveloped. Rapid development of the cosmetic industry (the output of cosmetics in Russia increased on average by 10 % per year) resulted in the growth of demand for packaging tubes. At the time 80 % of the total packaging volume was imported.

 

A combination of unique performance properties, low cost and usability made laminated packaging quite attractive both for the cosmetic industry and for medical and chemical industries. Thus the choice was made, and 2002 was the year when the A DEPT Company began its development, headed by the current president of the company Sergey Pronin and his associates, co-owners of the company and members of the board - Pavel Nefidov and Igor Stolyarov.

 

During the period from 2002 to 2008 the A DEPT company improved its positions more than significantly. Currently A DEPT's production capacity has developed to 12 million laminated tubes per month. It showed oneself to advantage as undoubt leader of laminate tubes producers and was highly estimated by its foreign partners. And nowadays having the own reputation of stable and perspective partner the company has a real chance to be presented at the world market of packaging producers.
